We got stranded here in a massive storm that hit the midwest with over 24 tornado reports and over 282 reports of damaging high winds. It was a record low barometric pressure reading for the midwest: 955.2 mb (28.21″). The winds were strong and we found this RV park and quickly took cover (maybe not covered by at least stopped and off the road). We spent the next few days here riding out the winds. We even had to bring our slide in one day it was so incredibly windy.
Campground: Interstate RV Park
Location: Davenport, Iowa
Site:
Cost: $36
Services: FHU
Comments: An RV Park right off I-80 and close to the “World’s Largest Truck Stop”. It was full of trucks. We knew it was safe to start driving high-profile vehicles again when the trucks started pulling out of the truck stop.
