We really enjoyed this campground. It is much further to the north than the other parts of the State Park which tend to be more crowded. This area also provides easy access to Apache del Bosque if you are a birdwatcher.
We saw all sorts of birds. In our campsite we watched Golden Eagles and flocks of Sandhill Cranes and down by the lake we saw lots of White Pelicans, Great Blue Herons, Grebes, Cormorants, and more.
