Yes, we are back. I seem to be saying that a lot lately. When you find a good thing it is difficult not to return. After spending a few weeks boondocking we headed into the state park campground for a week of pure luxury with full hookups. We love this place and we love this site.
Campground: Anza Borrego State Park – Palm Canyon Campground
Location: Borrego Springs, California
Site: 45
Cost: $33 ($2 discount with interagency pass)
Services: FHU (30 AMP)
Comments: Big, long sites with FHU, surrounded by palm trees, perfect for to do laundry and take long hot showers after boondocking for weeks.
The campground has easy access to the Overlook Trail and the Palm Canyon Trail. Due to the El Nino this winter this area has been having above normal temperatures so it has been hot, hot, hot. Our hikes have been starting as early in the morning as possible, which is quite difficult for us but we have managed to be out on the trail by 8am even if we are a little grumpy.
With the campground and the trails being so close to the Palm Oasis and the water source it means you can get a glimpse of wildlife which is always fun.
And the Visitor Center is just a short jaunt away, about .7 mile from the campground.
