McCall, Idaho is a town of 3,000 people and sits at around 5,000′ elevation in central Idaho. It is located on the southern end of Payette Lake and is known for not only its’ summer lake activities but also for its immense variety of winter activities. McCall offers downhill and cross country skiing, snow shoeing, skating, hockey, a winter carnival, etc. It is a winter wonderland and has one of the highest snowfalls in Idaho.
Payette Lake
The lake is about 22 miles long and a maximum width of about 2.5 miles. The lake is full of summer boating and fishing activities and has a few marinas. Ponderosa State Park, with great camping facilities, is located on the lake.
Payette River and Riverfront Park
Payette Lake flows into Payette River and then on south to Lake Cascade. Payette River runs along the Riverfront Park with a few nice trails and a bridge over to an island. The Park is adjacent to the McCall RV Resort.
Snow, snow, snow, and more snow! And it is now May!!
