Wow, we found a slice of heaven in the Montana forest, thanks to @thefleetwoodmacs!
A few months ago we had seen a few posts from @thefleetwoodmacs on Instagram showing Lake Mary Ronan Lodge and describing the place in all its’ beauty. We were headed to the area so we decided to stay there for a bit. Are we glad we did! It was paradise.
Lake Mary Ronan is small lake about 3 miles by 2 miles and is just west of Flathead Lake about 8 miles. We drove a a small treed road along the lake with my husband wondering where I was taking him! A few signs would crop out out of the bushes to let us know we were on the right track.
Before long we arrived and there was a sign on the road alerting RVers to stop there and go into the lodge and check-in. Before we could even get out of the RV a car stopped next to us and they told us to pull on into the RV sites and they would go check us in. They were employees and quickly got us checked in, site number, etc. They received an “A+” for prompt, courteous, and generous service!
There is a main lodge with a bar and restaurant, 7 RV sites (full hookups), and 7 cabins, along with boat rentals, a general store, a dock, and various other activities. The RV sites are all pull-ins and the sites are large enough to accommodate big rigs. Some 5th wheels had some interesting dilemmas with the pull-ins but the staff certainly accommodated them with allowing them to pull their truck over the grass to unhook!!! The lodge has outdoor dining on its deck and live music some evenings. It was beautiful!
RV Park: The Lodge and Resort at Lake Mary Ronan
Location: Proctor, Montana
Site: 5 (pull in)
Cost: $81
Services: FHU
Comments: A fabulous, wonderful RV park with great lake views and is nested deep in the woods down at the end of the road. The views were excellent, the service was great, the food was terrific, the music was fab, and our overall stay was idyllic. Thanks to the McAlisters for the recommendation!
There are 5 sites at the top of the hill which are all pull in and offer views out to the lake from the front of your rig and from your picnic area. Sites 6 and 7 were down the hill a bit and the lake views would be out the passenger side of your rig (pull in sites) along with your picnic area. All the sites seemed comparable to us and you could not go wrong with any of them.
All cabins have lake views and vary in size, number of bedrooms, and kitchen amenities. They all looked terrific and were scattered around the property in various locations.
There are 2 pickleball courts, a shuffleboard court, cornhole, a 5-hole frisbee course, horseshoes, and a kids recreation room. And of course, there is fishing and the lake is stocked with kokanee, trout, bass, and perch. Just rent a fishing boat and head out for the day!
The General Store is across the street by the dock and offers coffee and food and boat rentals (fishing boats, pontoon boats, kayaks, and paddleboards) along with great lounge chairs to waste the day away. There is also an overlook deck area for special events with couches and chairs that are easy to fall asleep in!!
And then there is a full-service restaurant with a fabulous chef who prepares seasonal dishes. We could not resist and it was well worth it as the food was delicious, the service was great, and the entertainment was superb (@coltonseamusic).
What a fantastic place and a little paradise that we would not have known about without the help of @thefleetwoodmacs. They said at first they were hesitant to share their secret about this place but felt it was too good not to share and we could not agree more!!!
What a lovely place! We will be that way early summer. I’ll have to check it out. Thanks for sharing.
I think you guys would enjoy it. Safe travels to you!!
