Lake Mary Ronan Lodge is about a 10 minute drive from Dayton, Montana which sits on the west side of Flathead Lake. It is an easy drive on to Kalispell for some touring. Along the way we had terrific views of Flathead Lake.
Our first stop was Foys Lake which is just outside of Kalispell. It is a small but beautiful lake with a few picnic areas and the color is a gorgeous blue!
Foys Lake is right next to the entrance to Lone Pine State Park where we headed to next to look at some views of Kalispell and Glacier from the overlook areas and also to do some hiking. It is a lovely state park which sits on top of Lone Hill, offers fabulous views, and the hiking trails all drop down into the valley and back up again. The hiking trails are in the woods and are lovely. We didn’t see any bears but we had our bear spray with us!
We decided to head on up to Whitefish since we had not been there in a number of years. We really like the area and the quaintness of the town and of course, Whitefish Mountain Ski Resort can be seen from all over the area.
Then we headed back down to Kalispell for a trip down memory lane along with some grocery shopping. Kalispell is another city we quite enjoy.
