We departed from the Tallahassee area and drove west through the Florida panhandle and passed into Central Time zone along the Apalachicola River.
On we went heading west and left Florida (sob, sob….) and entered into Alabama. We spent over a month in Florida and we had a terrific time. Bye, bye.
Next stop was Buc-ee’s in Robertsdale, Alabama. We saw a few signs along the interstate for Buc-ee’s (ha, ha…). We needed to fuel up (at a great price – relatively speaking) AND buy a few food items. We love Buc-ee’s!
After a terrific stop at Bucee’s we continued on and headed north before we entered Mobile and drove through a beautiful area to Live Oak Landing which is a Baldwin County park in Stockton.
Campground: Live Oak Landing

Cost: $42.85

Comments: A lovely small campground with full hookups about 30 minutes north of Mobile along the Tensaw River and very close to I-65. It was quiet and peaceful and idyllic.
The campground has 28 sites surrounded by trees and all sites looked level and were on concrete slabs. There was one main bath house with a laundry. We were emailed a confirmation for a reservation along with the laundry room code and WiFi password. Here’s a few of the other sites.
The park has 175 acres of land and a half of mile of waterfront property on the Tensaw River. There is a boat launch, fishing pier, day use area, canoeing/kayaking, hiking trails, and a frisbee golf course. There are 1,500 acres of conservation land along with additional 300,000 acres of protected wetlands which makes the area a nature lovers paradise.
This is a lovely park but I can imagine in season and/or weekends the day use and river area could be quite active but the campground would still be peaceful.
