We are back. It was time for our yearly pilgrimage to Quartzsite for the Big Tent RV Show. We also like to meet up with friends at rallies so this year we decided to crash the Alfa Roadrunners Rally and pester them for awhile.
We departed San Diego and headed east on I-8 heading back through the wind turbines in McClain Valley and on through the agricultural fields of El Centro.
We headed north on Highway 95 in Yuma and on to Quartzsite and on to the Alfa Roadrunners Rally at La Posa North BLM which is a Long Term Visitor Area (LTVA). An LTVA allows you to stay for either 6 months ($180) or 2 weeks ($40).
Campground: La Posa North BLM
Location: Quartzsite, AZ
Site: At the “Alfa” Rocks location
Cost: BLM LTVA 14 day permit – $40
Services: Dry camp
Comments: A great dry camping area far from the maddening crowd within a very popular BLM area. Not only did we meet up with old friends (no, “Old” is not the operative word here) but we also made new friends (which may or may not be old)!
Off to the RV Big Tent Show! Yes, it is pretty much the same every year but we also see a few new products or evolution of products. And it is always fun to people watch and and also walk through the RVs. It was a good time!
