We departed Brigham City, Utah early in the morning to get a head start on the Salt Lake City traffic enjoying the sunrise over the Wasatch Mountains. We sailed through SLC with no problems and no slow downs. That’s a first for us! YAY! Of course, we chose a Sunday morning which was perfect.
After a nice drive we came into Beaver and on to the Beaver KOA.

Comments: A quiet, well maintained KOA off of I-15 in Utah. It was far enough away from the interstate to not have any noise. It was spacious with level sites and close enough to town to go enjoy The Creamery!
The RV park is a typical KOA (like I say about ALL of them) with a pool, bark park, laundry, playground, etc.
The town of Beaver, with a population of about 3600, is close by and is known for its stone houses and public buildings. Beaver is about a 3 hour drive south of Salt Lake City and used to have the Co-op which was the largest Utah mercantile south of SLC. The Tushar Mountains are only 10 minutes away and there are quite a few interesting places to visit nearby with ghost towns, recreation areas, and places for fishing, mountain biking, skiing, etc. The Tushars are the third highest mountain rain in Utah with three of their peaks exceeding 12,000 feet where Mountain Goats thrive.
Beaver is also known as the birthplace of Philo T. Farnsworth (who invented the television which we learned about at the Idaho Potato Museum). And now we know why there is a streaming service called Philo. Beaver is also the birthplace of Butch Cassidy whose real name was Robert Leroy Parker. Butch’s parents moved over the mountains to Circleville, Utah where Butch grew up and you can visit his childhood home now as it is a historical landmark. It is free or charge, has ample parking, and a few picnic tables.
One of the most popular places to eat in Beaver is The Creamery. It is famous for its squeaky cheese (cheese curds) and homemade ice cream. It offers an ice cream parlor, gift shop, cafe, store, and a cheese tasting room. The food is delish!
