We’re heading to wine country in Paso Robles, California. A holiday weekend is fast approaching and we are finding it difficult to secure a site for the week. There are not many campgrounds and/or RV Parks in the area. There are 3 RV parks in Paso Robles and then a few campgrounds in Lake Nacimiento. We call and call and eventually get a place at Wine Country RV Resort which is owned by Sun RV Resorts but they can’t fit us in for all the nights we need. They have a sister RV park about 5 miles north of Paso Robles called the Vines RV Resort. They finally figure a way to split our time between the two resorts. How lucky for us (wink, wink)!! So off we go to Wine Country. They gave us an excellent site overlooking a vineyard (Eos Estate Winery). I love it!!
The park is across the street from the Ravine Waterpark so we have read that during the warm months the RV park can have lots of children in residence to allow for easy access to the waterpark. Be forewarned.
The registration building allows for check-in and unhooking of tow vehicle. A bit tight if there are lots of vehicles coming in and the local wine shuttles are picking up passengers.

Comments: A lovely RV park sitting in the heart of wine country in Paso Robles. Eos Estate Winery was literally in our back yard and a few more wineries across the street and to the east and to the north. Ahh…life is sweet. Our site, site 62, backed up to the vineyards and provided a lovely view. The site was level and had a grass area, pavement for parking the rig, a picnic table, and a grill. Wi-fi worked fine.
All sites we saw are level even though the sites are tiered. The sites come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Some sites are back-ins and some are back to back meaning you share a pull-thru with another rig back to back. Some sites are dirt and some are paved. Some sites come with grass for the sitting area and some have pavement and one even has a nice little deck. Some sites are quite short and meant for very small rigs or trailers and others can fit big rigs. The sites at the top of the hill, 92-109, back up along Hwy 46 and can be quite noisy with all the traffic.
The RV resort offers both a pool and two spa areas. The upper level has an adult only spa area with a portable firepit. Both are lovely areas and meticulously maintained.
When we arrived the park was almost empty but by the time we left during the middle of a holiday weekend it was packed. It was a whole different feeling when the park was almost empty. Once the park was full it felt tight, more commotion, and the roads felt more narrow. Many sites cannot accomodate tow vehicles but they do have excess parking areas for people to park their cars. Some vehicles were squeezed into the sites which made for a cramped feeling.
All in all, we had fabulous weather and a fabulous time.
