Touring Yellowknife! Yellowknife is the capital of the Northwest Territories and is located on the northern shore of the Great Slave Lake. It sits about 250 miles south of the Arctic Circle and has a population of approximately 20,000 people. Even though it gets quite cold in the winter it has some of the sunniest weather in all of Canada during the summer. A fab place to be during that time with long, long, long sunny days! Don’t miss the Wildcat Cafe or Weaver & Devore, the “go-to” place for your bush orders!

Now for the bad news. I usually take several cameras with me on trips and use them for different things. I had an Olympus camera with me that I would use for quick snapshots. Unfortunately, I discovered way too late that my Olympus card and camera were having problems. I lost almost 1,000 photos I had taken while in the Northwest Territories. We tried everything to recover them but the files were corrupted. So sad….
Just guess we will have to go again!
