Purtis Creek is a 355-acre fishing lake southwest of Dallas where you can also swim, paddle, boat, hike, bike, camp, and just enjoy the area. There are 59 campsites with water and electricity along with some tent sites and walk in primitive sites. There is a dump station on site.

We departed Paul B. Johnson State Park in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and headed through Jackson and Vicksburg wishing we had time to stop and explore both of those areas. We departed from the Tallahassee area and drove west through the Florida panhandle and passed into Central Time zone along the Apalachicola River. On we went heading west and left Florida (sob, sob….) and entered into Alabama. We spent over a month in Florida and we had a terrific time.
