We have stayed at the Palm Canyon Campground countless times and find that even through it can be almost full in the winter (Jan, Feb, March) we can almost always get a spot for a few nights. We sometimes make reservations ahead of time if need be but not always.

Oasis Palms RV Park – Thermal, California
We headed south from Joshua Tree National Park along Box Canyon Rd. Taking Box Canyon cuts off a few miles from driving I-10 to Hwy 86 south. Not only does it save some miles but it also is a nice, quiet, peaceful, scenic drive right along the San Andreas Fault.
Continue readingRiver Island State Park – Parker, Arizona
River Island State Park sits along the Colorado River north of Parker. We have stayed at this park before in the spring and it was packed full. We had to have reservations to get in during that time. This time of year, early December, we basically had the park to

Yes, I love my waterfront. The first time we went to Lake Havasu State Park I remarked how I wanted to come back and get a waterfront site. Well this year we did. We choose the week of Thanksgiving to spend at this beautiful park nestled right in the city

Wow, we love this park. Neat, clean, huge, spacious sites, lots of privacy, and a great cell signal with strong data. Big Bend is the newest Nevada State Park and has 24 large, level sites with full hookups added in 2009. And it shows it. Welcome to Big Bend (not

The South Campground is actually just directly “north” of the Visitor Center and the Watchman Campground is just directly “south” of the Visitor Center. Only the Watchman Campground accepts reservations and if you don’t

Willard Bay State Park is in Willard, Utah on the eastern shores of Willard Bay and about 15 miles north of Ogden, Utah. The park is on a small stretch of land between I-15 and the bay. Yes, it can be noisy. The State Park offers three campgrounds, two
Continue readingMoyie Lake Provincial Park – Moyie, British Columbia
This is one of our all time favorite parks. I know I say that a lot, at least it seems like I do but this one is the epitome of what I think a campground should look like, tall pine trees and lots of space between sites. We have

Campground: Little Bow Provincial Park Location: Champion, Alberta (Park is about 17km east of Champion) Site: B-64 Cost: $29 (CAD) Services: E (30 AMP) Comments: Nice, quaint campground. A bit crowded due to the August long weekend in Canada. Site was average for spaciousness. Even though there were lots
